What is the Best Sunscreen? Which type of sunscreen is better for you? Chemical sunscreen, mineral sunscreen, or a hybrid?⁠ The answer is: no one sunscreen is better than the other. The best sunscreen for you is the one you apply every single day — in the right amount.⁠ When choosing a sunscreen, here are a few things our dermatologists recommend: ☀️ Go for broad-spectrum sunscreen always! This means that the sunscreen can protect your skin from both types of harmful UV rays — the UVA rays and the UVB rays.⁠ ☀️ Go for SPF 30 or higher! A higher number SPF blocks slightly more of the sun's UVB rays, but no sunscreen can block 100 percent of the sun's UVB rays.⁠ ☀️ Opt for water-resistant sunscreens! Not all sunscreens offer water resistance, but using one will allow your sunscreen to stay on wet or even sweaty skin before you need to reapply.
